Kongsberg Defence and Aerospace announced on 3 July the signature of two important agreements with the Norwegian Defence Logistics Organisation (NDLO).
The first, a letter of intent, aims to evaluate potential for further development of strategic cooperation between the two organisations, with a view to better supporting the emergency readiness demands of the Norwegian armed forces.
The second is a strategic cooperative agreement focused on airborne platforms, which will act as the foundation of further collaboration and cooperation. Specifically, this agreement calls for support of the Norwegian airborne platforms portfolio by Kongsberg Aviation Maintenance Services (previously AIM Norway AS) and the NDLO.
“It is important for us to reinforce cooperation with the Norwegian industry in order to cover the Armed Forces' need for maintenance and service also in the future. This agreement starts with airborne platform maintenance and we are hoping that we can expand this strategic cooperation,“ explained the CEO of the NDLO, Petter Jansen.
“With the acquisition of AIM, now Kongsberg Aviation Maintenance Services, we are well prepared to support the Norwegian Armed Forces with this type of maintenance task. This agreement continues the excellent cooperation we have with NDLO, as well as securing our highly competent workforce in Kongsberg Aviation Maintenance Services,“ added Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace’s President, Eirik Lie.
The parties have established a steering group that will direct development of the cooperation.
