The flurry of aviation-related activity in Argentina as the Air Force overhauls its capability and rationalises its fleet includes the commencement of work on eturning a Fokker F27 (serial TC-79) to service, at the specific request of Defence Minister Augustín Rossi.

The service’s II Brigada Aérea will conduct the major overhaul and FAdeA the non-destructive testing. The engines will undergo overhaul and maintenance in Australia, while local company Hélices Clerici will overhaul the propellers. Current plans are to have the aircraft reactivated by the end of 2020, with a second aircraft (TC-75) returned to service next year.
