The Spanish government has requested procurement of 100 AIM-120C-7/8 Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missiles (AMRAAM) through the US Foreign Military Sales channel.

In addition to the all-up rounds, the request also covers a single AMRAAM guidance section as a spare, KGV-135A encryption devices and associated engineering, technical and logistic support. Total estimated value of the resulting contract is stated as being $248.5 million (€209.6 million). Prime contractor will be Raytheon Missiles and Defense, Tucson, AZ.
