Italy seeks equipment and services to support the integration of two Airborne Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance, and Electronic Warfare (AISREW) mission systems onto two G550 aircraft – to be supplied by the Italian Ministry of Defence – at an estimated cost of $500 million (€410 million). The equipment will include four Multifunctional Information Distribution Systems – Joint Tactical Radio System (MIDS JTRS), including two spares; three Embedded GPS/INS devices (one spare); and four RIO communications intelligence systems (two spares). A wide range of EW sensors and countermeasures are included in the request, as well as OSPREY 50 AESA radars, IFF systems and aircraft modification and integration. The principal contractor will be L3Harris Technologies, Greenville, TX.
