Collins Aerospace has been awarded a multi-year Performance Based Logistics (PBL) avionics support contract for the Royal Netherlands Air Force’s (RNLAF) fleet of 15 CH-47F CHINOOK helicopters, the company announced on 8 March.
The company will provide field service engineering, programme management, logistics services and repair and overhaul for the installed Common Avionics Architecture System (CAAS) at Gilze-Rijen Air Base. With PBL and predictive supply and demand management, the RNLAF is able to reduce the volume of spares needed, eliminate back-orders and reduce paperwork, thereby reducing turnaround time, increasing parts availability and saving time and money.
“We have a long, successful history of supporting customer PBLs, delivering the highest level of in-country service that optimizes mission readiness,” commented Craig Bries, VP/GM, Avionics Service and Support. “As the original equipment manufacturer for the CH-47F avionics suite, we provide an unmatched level of expertise to help ensure fleets are ready at a moment’s notice.”
“This PBL follows a Letter of Intent signed between the RNLAF and Collins Aerospace in 2019 and is one of the key steps the RNLAF is taking to provide guaranteed fleet availability and in-theatre support during the RNLAF’s key missions,” observed Lt Gen J D Luyt, commander of the RNLAF.
Collins Aerospace has over 20 years of PBL contracting expertise with a 100% programme renewal rate, showing that PBLs improve reliability and performance by integrating all facets of a comprehensive logistics chain.
