Officials from Thales have shared with MONS that the company will continue to offer its PR4G Fastnet Very High Frequency (VHF) tactical radio family with the latest version of its Fastnet-HD radio alongside the launch of its new VHF/UHF (Ultra High Frequency) Contact and Synaps tactical radio product lines.
The Fastnet HD includes new waveforms, improvements to existing waveforms and an improved icon-based human-machine interface. The Fastnet series remains in widespread use around Europe and the wider world, and is in service on the continent with the armed forces of France, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain and Switzerland.
The Contact radios are expected to equip the Armée de Terre (French Army) from early next decade, with the Synaps series being the exportable version of this radio sans national encryption standards and waveforms.
