On 8 December the Ukrainian Defence Ministry announced that Germany is to send military advisors to Ukraine to assist in training and military education. The agreement was signed in Kiev by Ihor Dolhov, Ukraine’s Deputy Defence Minister for European Integration and Ralf Brauksiepe, Parliamentary State Secretary in Germany’s Federal Ministry of Defence.

The advisors will work with the Hetman Petro Sahaidachny National Army Academy in Lviv, leading to the expectation that the focus of assistance will be in training and military education. Brauksiepe pointed to the agreement as further evidence of the strengthening cooperation between Germany and Ukraine.
