roda computer GmbH, one of the Bundeswehr’s (German Armed Forces) most important suppliers of rugged IT hardware, and Techaya Inc., an Israeli manufacturer of rugged IP-based communication systems for land-, air- and sea-applications, have established a distribution agreement to cover Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Techaya manufactures an extensive series of Ethernet switches, routers, USB hubs and media converters, built from the ground up to cope with the extreme environmental and quality demands of the dismounted soldier or those experienced with unmanned systems, large and small. The company specialises in the miniaturisation of components.
“The smallest MIL-STD certified 4-port switch weighs just 130g and, with dimensions of 82x52x26mm, is the size of a business card,” commented Techaya Business Development Manager, Zak Sucher. “We are active worldwide but relatively unknown in Europe, but roda all the more! So it was natural to arrange the distribution with roda with its excellent sales network.”
“The products of Israel-based manufacturer Techaya fit perfectly into our portfolio and our focus on the ‘one stop shop’ for rugged hardware,” added roda’s Managing Director, Frank Scholz. “Techaya is similar to roda and focuses on the defence industry and the specific needs of customisation. The compact 19”/2 network products of our Swedish partner MilDef AB, which are already on offer, follow a clear form factor strategy. Together with Techaya, we have another brick to reduce payload.”
