Curtiss-Wright Defense Solutions announced on 2 June that its Tactical Communications Group (TCG) has been awarded a contract by Swiss defence procurement authority, armasuisse, to provide software for the nation’s Air Test Evaluation and Engineering Support System (TEESS) and a replacement solution for its Ground TEESS.
To upgrade the Air TEESS, TCG will provide its Battlefield Operations Support System (BOSS) software, while to replace the Ground TEESS, the company will a hardware and software solution centred around its Ground Tactical Data Link System (GTS). The upgrade includes simplifying existing air and ground configurations, while adding support for the Link 16 Multifunctional Information Distribution System (MIDS) Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) radios and Block Upgrade 2 terminals. TCG will also perform additional systems engineering to integrate BOSS with the Pilatus PC-12 aircraft's navigation system and Air TEESS roll-on/roll-off hardware. Delivery has already begun and will continue until early 2021, with the products being manufactured at the TCG facility in Tewksbury, MA.
