LOWA’s ZEPHYR Mid boot is an award-winning three-season waterproof boot that is handcrafted in Europe from the highest quality natural and synthetic materials employing all of LOWA’s exacting standards, resulting in an incredible lightweight boot that provides maximum support for all-day comfort and protection from the elements.
The Boot Upper is made from a rugged Cordura nylon for its exceptional breathability, and topped with a high-quality split-leather layered in an attractive skeletonised pattern over the toe cap, heel counter, inner and outer quarters, and along both sides of the boot vamp for maximum strength and durability.
The Boot lining in the GTX model utilises W. L. Gore & Associates' GORE-TEX Extended Comfort technology for its great breathability and waterproof protection. At the core of these boots is the thin 3-layer GORE-TEX Extended Comfort laminate that comes without insulation. It consists of a highly abrasion resistant, quick re-dry textile lining, the micorporous GORE-TEX membrane and a protective knit. It keeps the footwear highly breathable while remaining durably waterproof.
LOWA guarantees their footwear will be free from defects in workmanship and materials for a period of 12 months, and having abused this show for the last 12 months, I still have a new boot. In hotter climates my feet did get hot, while in colder climates this boot performed exceptionally.
The MONOWRAP midsole, outsole and upper provided plenty of support, traction and lateral stability, while remaining lightweight and flexible without binding up around the toe or ankle.
Completely amazed, the LOWA ZEPHYR GTX is a keeper in MONS Gear Box’ accessories.
