At I/ITSEC 2017, ESG Elektroniksystem- und Logistik-GmbH showcases its newly developed sandbox alongside its Joint Fires Support Team (JFST) and Forward Air Controller (FAC) trainers. The latter two were installed at the German Army artillery school, where ESG is partnered with e.sigma Systems to provide a system to train both forward observers for indirect fire from land and sea, and FACs for close air support (CAS).

The system is integrated with the ADLER III fire-support command and control (C2) system, in service with the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr), based on ESG’s TARANIS C2 software.

The customised TARANIS software, on which all systems the company offers in the training domain are based upon, automatically takes target data from the target acquisition devices and populates and transmits formatted messages as well as displaying the tactical picture using digital maps and standard symbology.

Based on the company’s extensive experience and expertise in the field of simulation, ESG offers tailored solutions for training and analysis needs in the military environment.

Also on display are the Sea LYNX Mk88A Cockpit Procedure Trainer and RPAS MOBILE, a remotely piloted aircraft simulator on a tablet computer (shown). (Photos: DPM)
