Collins Aerospace has selected Barco’s FS40-4K MKII projectors for a prestigious international advanced jet training programme, Barco announced on 2 December.

The selection of the Barco LED projector, which will support the insertion of Collins’ GRIFFIN-2 360° visual system into the simulator, is based on the optimal resolution, superior value acquisition and lowest life-cycle cost. Collins will use the projectors in an ultra-high performance display system with a very low total cost of ownership, resulting in a dramatic leap in pilot training value.

Barco’s FS40-4K MKII is the next generation solid-state RGB LED projector, featuring 20% higher brightness than the previous MKI. Delivering incredible image performance with a rich dynamic contrast and reduced motion artefacts on moving content, it provides commercial and military pilots with the ability to train realistically at any time of day or night, or under any conditions.
