After a busy briefing for the Maritime/Air Systems & Technologies Asia (MAST Asia 2019) conference and exhibition on 12 February, organisers have already received numerous indications significant growth in participation from both Japanese exhibitors and foreign government/embassy-led pavilions at the event, to be held in Tokyo 17-19 June.
As Japanese companies finalise their 2019 budgets, regular MAST Asia exhibitors are considering bigger exhibits and additional presentations, while a number of ‘first-timers’ have already expressed intent to exhibit (or sponsor).
Defence contractors already established in the region are expected to support their Japanese customers with displays of their platforms and systems operated by the Japanese Self Defence Forces. There has also been a marked increase in the submission of conference presentation abstratcs, with the Japanese Acquisition, Technology and Logistics Agency (ATLA) confirming at least 17 presentations, plenary sessions and VIP/social functions will feature top-level addresses from both Japanese government and military officials.
Visitors/delegates to the third biennial MAST Asia – the only comprehensive defence-related event of its king to take place in Japan – are guaranteed the full perspective of operations, technologies being used or under consideration by maritime, air, missile defence and expeditionary forces, in and around Japan.
