The Vietnamese Ministry of National Defence and the Ministry of Public Security have both endorsed the Defense and Security Expo (DSE) Vietnam 2019, taking place in Hanoi 2-4 October. Both government bodies have given the event their official support and will participate, the show organizer, Expo Services Pte Ltd, announced on 30 May.

The event constitutes an unprecedented opportunity to engage directly with military and security procurement officials from across the ASEAN-Asia Pacific region, to discuss their specific requirements, develop business opportunities and relationships and to increase awareness of the potential solutions available. ASEAN continues to be a growing defence and security market and Vietnam is potentially the largest available defence-industrial partner for western companies seeking to establish or consolidate a foothold in the region, according to the organisers.

Limited to little more than 80 direct exhibitors – both domestic and international – DSE Vietnam 2019 will allow procurement officials and capability developers to view at first hand the latest innovations, products and solutions for a wide variety of requirements in the Vietnamese and regional defence and security markets.

DSE Vietnam is unique as the first tri-service defence and security exhibition and conference to serve the Vietnam People's Army (VPA) - comprising the Ground Force, Navy, Air Force, Border Defence Force, Coast Guard and the Public Security Forces responsible for the national and community police units - it is also a bustling marketplace for the rest of the ASEAN economic and security bloc,” commented Regional Director, Ooi Teik Chai.

The DSE Vietnam Thought Leadership Conference taking place in parallel is specifically tailored for a professional defence and security audience and will address themes including Best Practices, Doctrine, Industrial Cooperation Solutions and Training. The conference will address prevailing national issues and regional concerns - including available and potential technical solutions to the bewildering variety of challenges the region faces. Participants will include senior defence and security officials, industry thought leaders, senior VPA personnel and other prominent decision-making stakeholders.
