At the Shot Show in Las Vegas earlier this month MOHOC, the creator of the world’s first military-optimised helmet camera, launched the LASO, a WiFi-based Tactical Video Transmitter.

LASO enables users of MOHOC cameras to livestream video to teammates and command. Small, rugged and simple to operate, it is a two-part booster system that extends the WiFi streaming distance of the standalone camera by a factor of 10 – to 200m line of sight. Mission applications that will benefit from such real-time situational awareness include explosive ordnance disposal (EOD), room clearance, riot control, surveillance and training.

Since pre-launch at SOFIC and Eurosatory in 2018, tactical operators have successfully deployed LASO beta-test units. Thanks to their feedback, the product is now ready for the mass market. As MOHOC’s first Tactical Video Transmitter, LASOTM represents our commitment to pioneer live-streaming video technology specifically developed for defence and law enforcement,” commented MOHOC’s Vice President of Product Development, Dan Fuhrman.

Rapidly deployed, LASO requires nothing more than powering on and opening the app. Cable-free and body-worn, it consists of a transmitter unit that accompanies the operator with the MOHOC camera, and a pre-paired viewer unit that stays with those watching the video on phone or tablet through MOHOC’s iOS or Android app.
